About the Junto

The Rocklin Junto is a gathering of men dedicated to furthering the understanding and proper application of the principles of the United States Constitution. It is our belief that a great portion of the troubles within federal, state and local government are due to a severe lack of understanding by the general population of Constitutional principles. We also believe that men have taken a back seat in community and family leadership and need an outlet for becoming actively involved again.

Welcome to the Rocklin Junto!

"Junto" refers to a social group started by Benjamin Franklin which met to do the following:

"The Junto's Friday evening meetings were organized around a series of questions that Franklin devised, covering a range of intellectual, personal, business, and community topics. These questions were used as a springboard for discussion and community action. In fact, through the Junto, Franklin promoted such concepts as volunteer fire-fighting clubs, improved security (night watchmen), and a public hospital."

The initial meetings of the Rocklin Junto will help develop the structure of the group, the formation of future groups and will delve into the problems faced by a general lack of Constitutional learning that will become the focus of the group.

We will meet monthly for an hour and a half, with pre-selected texts and constitutional principles identified for the next meeting.

Friends are welcome and should attend with existing members.  While women are not excluded and are welcome to attend from time to time, the intent of this Junto is to provide an opportunity for male community and family leadership development with a focus on the US Constitution.
